The Blue Booklet

Complete text of the original booklet. Picture.

Before managing SOS Femmes Accueil in Saint-Dizier, France, I was the director of an organisation called Antigone, from its inception in 1991 trough 1998, in Nancy.
During this period of time, the organisation coordinated two main projects : a prevention and welfare program directed at people living with HIV and AIDS ; a prevention and welfare program directed at prostitutes.
This section of the site presents a project developed by the team in 1995 in close collaboration with prostitutes. It was a community-based project that paid close attention to the views and needs of the target group.
The result is a booklet made for the use of street sex-workers : still very current, it aims at keeping them safe and at a lower risk of contracting HIV or an STD.
This booklet is simply called "The Blue Booklet".

No idea about what an international conference on aids looks like ?

I dedicate this section of the site about the Blue Booklet to all the people with whom I lived more than seven unforgettable years of my life when I managed Antigone and its team :

first, to all those who have died of AIDS and who have left this world much too early : Martine, Florence, Reynald, Fernand, Régine, Joël, Patrice, Alain, Chantal, Philippe, … (I cannot name all of you but I remember everyone) …

to the prostitutes who collaborated on the Blue Booklet Project and to all the people I met and worked with in the street, and elsewhere.

to members of "my" team of those times, who created the Blue Booklet with me — Christine Binsfeld, Paul Alonso, Nicole Dome — and to those who used to bring it with them in the street : Frédéric Chaumont, Mady Vincent, Véronique Malo, Céline Trabac, Frédéric Labich.
